Man, that Luther cat has been wrecking shit ever since he showed up on the scene...I loved meeting him when he was visiting the H! Glad to see he's as articulate as he is entertaining. Meanwhile, the comment from BAP Jones made him that much more legit. Here's to yet another blossoming career in writing...and another reason for women of all ages to fall for a man named Luther.

What a wonderful guest columnist--insightful, provocative and clever. Luther has all the makings of a good Baptist preacher. He gave homage in the beginning the middle and the end to the home pastor and then went on to do his own thing. He honored the home columnist by showing that it was a good decision to have chosen an able writer. Good team.

Dawson:

I find your comments on Alan Keye's case for morality to be on..but absurd nonethless.

You see, the problem, as I see it, for Modern Man, and in my case---the Modern Negro, is to take modernity seriously. The champion of the modern sensibility, and it's imperatives is none other than Fredrich Nieztche, who lays our our burden in two cases:

"There are no Moral Phenomena..only Moral interpretation of Phenomena"

And last but not least:

"If by the Death of God we don't fashion a major renunciation of ourselves----we will have to pay for that loss"

Question, can the Modern Man/Negro Dig this? I am perfectly willing/able to live in a world without God and Morality. Clearly, we humans can fashion some equilibrium coordinating device, that may even resemble the historical God and conventional morality to achieve our narrow empirical goals (Admission to top law schools for example---tonque-in-cheek).

Peace,

--G.Price
