Lenny Williams in Concert?

Just saw an e-mail from the Ticketmaster listserv, and it seems that Lenny Williams will be coming to Fayetteville, NC in May. That begs the question…does Lenny have two songs?

Paul Bomani is ill

I’m not sure how many are familiar anyone is with Tanzanian history, but Ambassador Paul Bomani is ill after a brain hemmorhage. Check his site for some background information on him. The site’s a bit crude, but it’s still informative.

I was told this by his granddaughter, and that leads to an interesting story…

Before getting into the fun…

My original plan was to post today about how gassed folks ’round these parts are about going to the Final Four, but I came across this one from Bob Herbert. I haven’t kept up well enough with what they’ve still got going in Iraq, but I thought this was a good one. Herbert’s dope as hell.

Keep on talkin…

Business…the column this week is on why beats are better in hip hop than they’ve ever been. Enjoy.

Lots of new traffic after this Fryer post, and much love to George, Spence, and Cobb for helping with that. Soon as I get the blogroll up, you’re up there, along with anyone else that’s got heat I’m willing to co-sign on. Welcome to the newcomers. The site’s about reckless, informed entertainment and shameless self-promotion. However, I’ll never waste your time.

Oh, and here are a few things to look forward to…

Beware of this man

What man? This man. It’s a lengthy read, and it requires an online subscription to the Times. But it’s free to do and good for you, so go ahead and do that.

And understand this–Roland Fryer is someone with whom you should be familiar. He’s the next academic hot shot Negro, right along the lines of Glenn Loury.

That’s not a good thing.

Jesus is angry!

Man, the Messiah is mad as all get out! I was outside today on campus, and I saw a cat holding up a banner that said, “GOD IS ANGRY WITH THE SINNER!

Wait, ain’t that everybody?

Houston, the Finale

Business…the column this week is on Michael Jackson. Have fun.

By the time you read this, I should be in the skies on the way back to Durham. That last club checked ID, but no patdown. Strong4U says she avoids clubs that have patdowns, but they make me feel better. No, the thought of a large man putting his hand between my legs ain’t my favorite thing in the world, but that lets me know other cats ain’t in there primed to cut up. No matter the clientele, I don’t feel good without being checked out properly. I need that security.

But here’s the question…does the lack of a patdown make fights more or less likely?

Houston, Part III

On my way to the club. That’s a big deal because it means I’m no longer dying.

Houston, Part II

Got here Thursday night. Came pretty close to dying on Friday. Felt like I was going to die on Saturday. And I might die today.

Back at home…

…Houston, that is. But business…the column’s on Fiddy this week. Enjoy, even though I haven’t even seen the finished version yet. This should be fun, though.

Well, lemme tell you about Houston…
