Learn a lil ’bout Baba
Okay, sometimes I want to post something, but I don’t know what I want to post. Times like that, I use a tried and true technique–straight biting. What follows is a format I boosted from izrael, but I’m pretty sure he boosted it off someone else. We’re very crackhead-ish, us bloggers. Steal and sell, baby.
Either way, learn some things about me real fast.

Burning crosses in Durham
So, they’re burning crosses in these parts. Should I care about this.

MJ and Me
Well, the Michael Jackson trial is about open. It’s actually been more low-key than I expected, but I still wonder how his career will shape up after it’s all over–assuming he’s still got one. This is what I said a couple of months ago, and I still hold to that for the most part. There’s just no telling what will happen in the court of public opinion.
But, the end of the trial is good for me…

Graduation Day…
I went to Yazoo City, MS, this weekend to see my amazing nephew graduate from high school. More on the nephew later, but the timing was perfect given that there was a comment–and later, a clarification–made the other day by bboyboop about whether black folks value education.
No one could go to this ceremony and question whether black people value education. More on that in a few, but the graduation itself was the most entertaining ceremony I’ve ever attended.
Get ready…

On Fryer, one last time.
Business…after much discussion, the piece on Roland Fryer will finally run. However, due to editorial issues, it won’t run on BV as I previously said. Instead, it will run here at Virtual Bomaniland.
Am I happy about that? Not at all, no. I’d like for this to be as widely read as possible.
That’s where you beautiful people come into play…

Vicente Fox…is he really wrong?
Check this one about Mexican president Vicente Fox.
A few people are up in arms about this, including Jesse Jackson. This really sounds bad, but if one word in his quote is changed to something almost–but not quite–synonymous, then this wouldn’t be a big deal.

Waiting by the phone…
Business preview…I did an interview with Ja Rule yesterday, and that should be running some time in the next two weeks. If I can rig if properly, you’ll be able to listen to the conversation on the bidness blog, and there will be a joint on LeBron’s decision to fire his agents for BSN. Also, the long-discussed Roland Fryer piece will run next week. I promise, it’ll be worth the wait, according to all those that have read it.
What did you think of it, Roland?
Anyway, lemme tell you about waiting for Ja Rule…

Bomani on the radio…
Business…should you be reading this in British Columbia, please tune in to Team 1040 this morning, May 11. I’ll be a guest on a sports talk show hosted by Rick Ball and Barry Macdonald discussing the issues discussed in the Steve Nash piece. Click here to listen live on Windows Media Player. I should be on the air around 10:20 EDT.
Let’s just hope I don’t say anything stupid.

Back again
Business, again…today we’ve got a joint on ESPN about whether Steve Nash would be an MVP candidate were he black. It might not be what you expect, but it’s fun either way.
I’m sitting now watching my children take their final exam, but I wanted to get this out. I might do a full post later today, but maybe not. Newcomers, look around and make yourself comfortable.

Quickly…
Business…this month on the BSN, I’m talking about Kellen Winslow’s need for matrimony. Another business update coming later in the day.
