Birth: Not Quite, Baby. And Baba Talks to R. Kelly Today
Well, I got done with Birth of a Nation on my plane ride to Connecticut. The best thing about plane is they are a great chance to catch up on reading. When I was in graduate school, my knowledge of the material would generally be much higher the busier I was writing and living. Why? Because for me to be busy writing and living means travelling, which would mean travelling, which would mean hour on plane with nothing to do but read. Every now and then, I’d have to turn around and give the ice grill to someone’s incorrigible bundle of joy to stop the lil’ fucker from kicking me in the back and doing a dead-on impression of a cracked-out banshee.

Baba Does Bristol
Business…here’s my second open letter to LeBron James, found here at the BSN. Call this my contribution to Atlanta. Also, peep the bidness blog and see the update on Geeksta Rap. We have found the grandsons of the 2 Live Jews, I guess.
Sunday night, I left a strangely cryptic post. My plan was that I’d get sleepy while doing it but, before I knew it, I was clicking send.
Why was I nervous? Because I was heading to meet with the folks at ESPN.com the next morning.

As if you care, more about me.
So, my good friend RPM decides to hit me with one of them bloggin’ chain letters. The problem with these things is you can’t just lie and say you sent the thing out. But only because I love her so–and I’m way more open than I probably should be, even though I’m not–here’s more about me.
And this must be said–this here will lead into something far more interesting and important, which was my trip to Bristol, CT yesterday. Really, I need to post something while I can, and I won’t be able to do the post I wanna do until after work.

Great site
On my way to the airport, but I had to share this site with everyone. Finally, I can get that good half-windsor knot!
No, I shouldn’t be this excited about that.

What, me worry?
Damn right. It’s 1am, and I have to leave for the airport in less than five hours. Big meeting tomorrow. Gotta put on a suit for it. Going to talk about the kind of gig I dream of.
And I’m awake.

Revolution in a Bottle
First, the Typekey era is over. Input comments as your heart sees fit, but feel free to use Typekey if you like. However, there’s no reason to send comments through me. Put ‘em on the page and get this hee-yuh crunk.
I’ll send an SOS to the world
I’ll send an SOS to the world

I hope that someone gets my
message in a bottle
–Gordon Sumner.
Keeping that in mind, peep the new fund-raising mechanism being prepared by the Huey Newton Foundation (this link’s originally brought to us by Mark Anthony Neal. His take can be easily found via the Blogroll).
This will be interesting…

Hustle and Flow
Business…here’s a review of Hustle and Flow I did for ESPN. Enjoy.
Business preview…should have another letter to LeBron on the BSN this week. Also, I might not be able to post on Monday and Tuesday because I’ll be making a bidness trip to Connecticut Monday, and I’ve got some headway to make on another major project. Also, there might be a sports piece on Salon this week, depending on when that new Kaufman enters the world.

Ms. Aguilera
Is it possible to listen to this and not wonder when Xtina is gonna put out the soul album she was born to make?

Do I Want T.O. on my team?
I don’t talk about sports that much on here. I’m not quite sure why that is, though it’s probably because more than a few female readers instantly get bored when it turns to sports.
Three words for those types – not marriage material.
Anyhoo, I mull this Terrell Owens thing from time to time. I’ve decided that he’s a damn fool.

Three in a day
Yes, I know three posts in one day is excessive. Blame that on both an inexplicably early rise and the boredom that comes from holding office hours and no one showing up. Either way, let’s talk about this discussion of Nation vs. Paid in Full.
I have no idea why this is even a discussion.
