OutKast Top 25
So, I’m back on this Top 25 kick. This time, I’m going with the most significant group of my childhood, OutKast. I’ll say this again for all of you–THIS IS THE GREATEST RAP GROUP OF ALL TIME. There is no competition. The old folks that still put Run-DMC and Public Enemy on the top of the list are compiling the wrong list. Those two of the four most important groups ever (along with NWA and the Geto Boys).
But as for the best…think about this. Speakerboxxx/The Love Below had the world patiently waiting ten years after Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. By ‘96–ten years after PE dropped Yo! Bum Rush the Show, they were releasing the soundtrack to He Got Game; that was hot, but few people cared. ‘93 saw Run, Jay, and D-Mac releasing Down With the King, but that was it. And it came behind a relative dud, Tougher Than Leather.
Kast still goes strong. They win. And each of their LPs is classic.
On to the list.
(Edit–the album titles have been added to make researching the songs easier.)
