I used to think guns were cool... one of my boys I went to high school with was affiliated with some Mexican gangs around here in Denver and he always packed a .380. He let me shoot it a couple of times. He let me borrow it when I went to Daytona, Florida for Spring Break one year (we drove).

But then there was a party at my apartment I had just moved into after graduating high school. And some dude pulled a gun out on me... a Glock 9mm tht he actually painted red and silver. I haven't liked guns ever since... You could say I was scared straight.

But trust, if any fool tries to break into my home or harm any of my kids, they better be prepared to have a some machete swings toward the head. I have several of them joints around the house, including one hanging on the bed post (My neighborhood ain't the nicest right now...)

Anyway... u need anything, hit me

I would like to begin by expressing my condolences to you on your loss. Living here in the "A" desensitizes your human emotions on these issues. I did not give a second glance to the tv set when the story about your people came on. Here in this Black "paradise" we are shooting each other at an alarming rate.

These "gatts" that we have in our homes, what are they really protecting us from? The old Outkast song says that 'they' have some shyte that will blow out our backs from where they stay at. Did any of the gatts relieve the suffering of those in NoLA?

Why is there so much gun violence here in the Black "land of opportunity"?

Here in Canada, hockey isn't the national sport, knocking the US is. There are usually three elements to this game: "Our healthcare is better than theirs." "We're far more worldly than they are." and "Guns." The only one of the three that I feel is an across the board legitimate source of pride is in our near zero tolerance attitude towards guns in general and handguns in particular. Not to politicize this tragedy - and it is precisely that, in the theatrical sense - but if there had not been a gun involved, BoJ's friends would NOT be dead. Period.

It bothers me too. I didn't think that anything would hit me as hard as losing my sister a few months ago, because like your B.F. she died in her sleep. But now that there is someone to blame for the loss of a close friend and a d**n good mother... I mean I am having a hard time moving one from this because if not for that gun, my Godson would have his mother and I would still have my friend.
I have never been a big fan of having guns around, especially when children are involved.

Growing up in OK I had to go hunting every Thanksgiving. Never was comfortable shooting a gun. Too many things can happen, especially now that Dickey C has shown us.
