Could you create a new login account on your friend's computer, then replace the files/folders it creates with yours from the backup? Then it's almost like having your computer. I took it to the sink to rinse it out. The keyboard worked fine after drying out. But, the stain left in my carpet took years to get out. I naively tried getting it out myself with soap and water. The residual sticky sugars left behind attracted dirt, even though it looked clean initially. Even a professional carpet cleaner couldn't get it clean.
