Check it out... About a year or so ago a friend of mine moved to the mainland. A few months ago some of our mutual friends had a dinner party. We were talking about how nice it would be if our friend could be there... So I "cooked" up a surprise for dinner. Once everyone was seated at the party I brought out a laptop, with the iSight cam and wireless connection, to an empty chair with the place setting and everything, and he joined us via web cam (we filled the screen) for dinner (he had a plate of food there with him as well). You know the weird part? It was pretty damn normal after a few minutes as he joined in group and private conversations just like anyone would at a party. It sounds funny I know, but damned if we aren't planning to do it again. With more and more people having laptops, wireless broadband, high-res web cams (like the iSight built right into the MacBooks), this may become common place. Stranger things have happened...
