Damn. SC doesn’t treat people well at all. Kingston Plantation on Myrtle Beach did us just as dirty.

I didn’t get jerked like that even in Vegas, and they have a much higher ghetto guest ratio.

If they’re like most time share companies, they’ll probably send you an letter in 6 months offering 2 nights free at a hotel, plus some other gift to come listen to their pitch again. I guess they figure the more shots they have at you, the better their chances.

Hopefully they offer you a hotel with towels, though.

I hope you left the resort type beach areas and took a trip to the center of the Gullah Nation headquarters just a mere 30 minutes away. The history there would have made up for everything.

I am glad you didnt get the timeshare for one good reason: so I dont have to hear about how great of a deal you got. See, the presumption is that these timeshare cats get over on people. So when folk say, “Oh yeah, I just bought a timeshare,” everyone thinks, “These cats just got GOT.” So then the timeshare buyer has to sit through a 30-45 minute explanation of why their timeshare is the shit and how they got credits and how they can exchange them for places in Europe that they will never go to, blah blah blah.

Its like they feel guilty about buying it and they have to justify it to someone. If you buy a timeshare, just shut up about it and take it like a grown ass person. Maybe next time you will find something better to do with your kid’s college money.

Yeah Bo you were exactly right about the timeshare shakedown. They are like car dealers on steriods AND red bull. By the way they will call you this week. And then the manager will call you… Privacy director is a beautiful thing.

You guys made the right decision. I talked to a friend who owned one for awhile after returning from HH,and her take was “not worth it. People don’t take care of what they don’t own outright.” She said she spent a grip on never-ending maintenance fees and special assessments. She and her husband dumped theirs and bought a real house.

…and on a side note about wireless modems… The FCC mandates that they NOT broadcast over 150 feet or so. They actually have the “innards” that are capable of broadcasting wireless up to a mile away or so. I’ve seen those very routers broadcast campus-wide at a friend’s family’s university in the Philippines. You just have to disable the chip constraining the signal.
