Naitch (the character) was balla as hell..
Victor Newman (the character) was balla as hell...but still Double-A was the shit to me.

lol @ Randy Savage sounding like a constipated Bobcat Goldthwait...I kinda was gonna say he sounded like Lou Rawls with strep throat..but your idea worked too.

Dave, I'm just doing the Lord's work.

Fred, if I recall, Victor was some dude on a soap opera. Not the best way to assert Flair's manliness.

I always liked the batshit crazy guys. The Bushwhackers, George The Animal Steele, Steve Austin, etc. At least they were entertaining. Even the Macho Man sort of worked. He sounded like a mildly constipated version of Bobcat Goldthwait from the Police Academy days, but with a 6 pack a day Pall Mall habit. Good times.

Also, for some real wrasslin' nostalgia, check out www.wrestlecrap.com

Oh Stephanie... you are bringing back some memories! Kabuki. Yes, I remember him. And Kamala the Ugandan Giant, Gary Hart, Skandar Akbar, Armand Hussein, Gentleman Chris Adams, Ken Mantel (who was my first favorite wrestler), etc. Good times.

(Jeez, I had all but wiped Kabuki from the memory banks. Remember how he used to spray that stuff from his mouth?)

I grew up watching the Dallas/FW feed of World Class Championship Wrestling. Many people started out there (King Kong Bundy, etc.) and many others went through there (Superfly, Ric Flair, The Freebirds, etc.), but it was all held together by the Von Erich family. Kevin, David, Kerry, Mike and Chris (way later). Pretty tragic family as five of the six brothers have died young. Only Kevin is alive now living in Hawaii of all places.

Anyway, the patriarch "Fritz Von Erich" gave us... THE CLAW!!!

Also watched the 70s & 80s feed of Georgia Championship Wrestling, which spawned many big names too. It aired nationally on TBS.

(sigh) I too believed it was all real up until I was in college. It was before the day of the WWF/WWE. The setup was less silly and seemed more real. The WWF/WWE really went overboard and exposed it for what it was... (anyway, that's my excuse for buying into it).

This abusrd Ric Flair man-crush people have is beyond me. I worship no man in a sequined robe. Ric Flair is just Liberace without the piano.

Although, if Vince McMahon is reading, a "Piano Match" could be great...
