Haven’t done this in a while…

Business…here’s my look at Jigga’s American Gangster.

Advance SSP…I’ll be doing a chat tomorrow at 1 EST.  Join me for all the fun.
Many of you were originally directed to Virtual Bomaniland by the work I did on music.  In the last couple of years, I’d moved out of that work.  Part of it was because I wanted to focus on improving as a sportswriter, but another part of it was that it became more difficult to write about something I just didn’t dig as much as I used to.  The current state of affairs was going to drive this music journalist into being a music historian, if you get my drift.

All the same, it was a lot of fun writing about music again–rewinding to catch bits of minutaie, going through the hard drive looking for historical parallels, considering the hustle of it all.  More of that will come in the future, I imagine.

Back to work.  Have fun.

Updates

I did the Jump this morning. Figured I should mention that.

Been buried under the keyboard lately. Just got done editing a piece on Jay-Z’s American Gangster that’s going to run on Salon.com tomorrow. Gotta say it’s fun writing for Salon, something I haven’t done in about four years.

Also, I’ve got a post I wanna do about my high school reunion a couple of weekends ago, but I’m still working on it. For some reason, this is the first post I’ve ever done that I felt required some editorial standards. I have no idea what that means. At Virtual Bomaniland, we don’t listen to the friggin’ editor. But this time, we do.

I’ll be ’round.
