Bo, maybe it's me, but I like Bojangles a little better than Popeye's (maybe 'cause the Popeye's up near me has a tendency to suck ass from time to time), but it's a close call.

Bojangles started popping up in the ATL about 3 years ago.

Kirk, ordering food for her coworkers was her "cover" for whom she was really ordering it for... Her.

The other night I'm at Zippy's (Hawaii's "cheap eats," all-genre restaurant), and there's this 400+ pound dude working on four complete dinner plates in front of him. In the course of time that my GF and I ate our single meals, he'd finished them ALL.

Whenever I start to carry around that spare tire, that is all I need to see to work it off!

As I have gotten older, I don't eat fried chicken much. Ya know, actually frying chicken at home has become a thing of the past. When was the last time you fried chicken, the old fashion way? No one can stand the greasy smell in the house anymore.

I do have to have my Popeye's once a month. I like it spicy. Without the spice, what's the point. In San Antonio, TX, I get tired of tacos and fajitas. Popeyes and a great culinary escape for me. The Latinos love it to, for we have a very some black population, but there is always a Popeyes somewhere near.

But what about the red beans? Or, should I say Red Bean Juice and Rice. ...not a whole bean in the serving.

I can cut down on the fried foods, but can never truly eliminate Popeyes from my diet. I am from New Orleans where Popeyes began. I was raised on this stuff. I remember every year when Popeyes used to throw doubloons at the paraded, that we would trade in for a free 2 piece order. ...the good ole days...

The food is fine at my local Popeye's - the clientele is another story. My last trip there had me stuck in line behind a fat broad in head-to-toe pink. That includes the heeled boots that, judging by her weight, had heels made of reinforced steel that would make a bridge jealous.
She was picking up food for her co-workers, and rather than taking orders when she left and being prepared, she was rattling off instructions with a cell phone glued to her meaty, greasy skull. I would have been annoyed, but she had an angelic voice that reminded me of Louis Armstrong gargling gravel.

Merry Christmas.

Evan, I concur, I ate at a Popeye's in Nawlins' years ago and found the food much tastier than in my hometown.

Bojangles? They moved out of South Florida around 87 or so, but Popeyes is by far the best.

Anyone who's been knows that Popeyes tastes better in New Orleans. They closed the one at Riverwalk with most everything else it seemed in the food court. Spicy chicken and dirty rice over McNuggets and fries any day.
