SI opens the archives

Even if you’re not a hardcore sports fan, this should be good news to you.  Here’s a great chance to read some amazing writing.  And, if you’ve heard stuff about the brilliance of Ralph Wiley but haven’t gotten to find out what the fuss is about, here’s another way to get caught up.

What if…

…Google went down for a full week. I don’t think anything like this has happened. I figure as much because I don’t recall ever being committed to an asylum, which is exactly what I think would happen if we lost what my brother and sister-in-law call “The Brain.”

I can imagine it, though. All over the world you’d be hearing, “I told you, I don’t know. Now either step up or step off, fool.”

Losing Google would be like Y2K and the apocalypse coming within ten minutes.
