You know we love some PF in this house... Too bad Comfortably Numb would not fly as a first dance number at a Czech Beer and BBQ wedding back in '92... Anyway, when this old gal dies, some ex students better pony up and sing and dance to ONE from A Chorus Line.

I'll send you a disc and the choreography because I will be expecting you in the first row.

Is it a coincidence that on their next album "Animals" that they bookended it with "Pigs On The Wing (parts 1 & 2)"? Roger must've agreed with the result of the bookended SOYCD and applied it there. Especially since each part of POTW are both short enough to be a single track together.

There's a book by Orson Scott Card called Speaker For The Dead (which is book 3 of a sci-fi series featuring Ender Wiggin; from Ender's Game, a must read for all sci-fi junkies). It features a rite given to the dead, not unlike a eulogy. It commences by having a speaker (be it someone who knows the person well, or just someone who specializes in the rite like a priest) give a testimonial about the person. This testimonial takes place anywhere a crowd can gather and the Speaker presents THE narrative of the persons life. It spares no detail, it's not full of anecdotes of that persons experiences; but is supposed to be the most accurate telling of who that person was good or bad. No secret is held sacred, and it give tries to give the people listening a better understanding of who the person was and why the person made the choices they made. I think that in the end, all most of us want is a witness for our lives; be it our children, our spouses, friends, or family. Someone who will tell the tale of our lives and say we existed and we were loved. That may be the only kind of immortality any of us can have. I hope whomever speaks for me just says I lived openly and without regret.

I have always wanted a party instead of a funeral. I want my family to rent the biggest yacht my insurance money will pay for, take it about a half hour offshore, throw my cremated ashes overboard, then have the dj crank house music until the sun sets. Drinks for everyone! (on me...lol).
