I’m feeling you on this Bomani. I’m totally addicted to my laptop and it travels with me daily like a purse. Being a writer, I love the immediate access to my computer when an idea sparks into my mind. Because it’s heavy, I’m highly considering purchasing a netbook when I’m no longer on funemployment!

If you look at it now, can you imagine growing up in the 1910s or 1920s. I understand why the old folks back in the day went to bed when it got dark outside. There was nothing to do, ….. except one thing. Now you know why grandaddy had 8 brothers and sisters.

On your laptoppers: My favorite times in life are when I go to a caribbean island or 8 mile, Alabama (where my Grandma is lived) where there is no internet or reliable phone signal. It’s not that people can’t afford it. The internets just don’t come out there. It is a very freeing experience. Plus it leaves time for “shoulder rubbing” (not at Grandma house though. She ain’t having it)

Bad news comes via e-mail and phone calls. Without them, the world just stands still. Fantastic.

The special lady friend is using this same line of thought to campaign against me having a blackberry. With the notebook I’m able to work any/all the time at home…with a BB, it would be anywhere at anytime.

That being said, I’ll never go back to the desktop pc. The notebook pc has spoiled me forever.
