So I’m headed to Chicago for a few days. First leg: partying with Mike Hitman for his birthday.
Well, his birthday was yesterday. Joe in Raleigh’s birthday is today. And the late Jonathan Boone would have been 32 today. I’m not much into the zodiac, but this almost makes me wonder a few things.
Anyway, this is one of those thanks to the listeners posts. Is there any other radio show you know of that could have several people show up in a city to party with another listener on his birthday? Our man Shultzie drove from Pennsylvania. JD’s coming from Detroit. Stacy, assuming he didn’t bow down to the woman that cuts his grass, will make the trip from Indy. Sacha and Corey drove in from Chiago. Francis is flying in today, as is Randall.
This, as far as I can tell, is beautiful. And it’s also why I’m not so down about The Morning Jones ending. If we’d kick it like this now, we’ll probably kick it like this later. And there will be some new outlet that we can use to bring us together.
As Bill Withers said, the city really ain’t no bigger than the friendly people that you meet. I’ve met a few friendly people over the years.
