Defying Predictions

So, I shoulda started a pool on how long it would take for this e-mail to come in after I started hosting the show on Saturdays.  Just so happens it came in before I’ve even hosted one.

You bring up alot of issues and blame race. Quit playing that card bro. It gets old. We simply want to hear sports. Peace

Again–BEFORE THE FIRST SHOW.  Even if I had a pool on when the first e-mail of the sort would come in, nobody would have won.
Also, there will be a link soon on the side bar that will allow you to listen to the show online.  I’ll let you know when it’s up.

  1. There are still lots of problems with -‘isms’….racism and sexism especially. Where it exists, it needs to be pointed out, exposed and ridiculed for what it is.
Then again, the -‘ists’ don’t like having it pointed out. They’d rather their brand of hate stay a dirty little secret, never having to worry about being called out.
That’s not to say that I personally blame every single problem that happens to a minority or member of the fairer sex on that sort of prejudice…but there’s certainly too much of it around and I would rather hear you point it out than let it fester like an infection.

  2. When done well, straightforward reminders of how stupid some people are makes for great radio, because Americans tend not to listen to each other, and speaking directly also tends to unnerve us. My favorite example of this in art is “Angels in America”. The characters speak directly and listen to each other, which is all that’s needed to put the play on an odd plane.
I’ve been lurking for a few months, and your writing keeps growing on me. As long as there’s stuff here, I’ll keep coming back. Thanks for the site!
