I think the idea about “moving the goal posts” on Tim Tebow applies to his detractors as much as his supports. First, detractors said that he couldn’t win running a college-style offense. Then, he couldn’t win a shootout. Then, after winning a bunch of games, as far as Tim Tebow was concerned, absurdly, winning was not an appropriate measure of his success. After all, Tim Tebow didn’t win those games – it was the Broncos defense, it was the poor play of opposing QBs and offenses, it was the poor play of opposing defenses, it was actually a Broncos WR that won the game, or a Steelers CB that lost the game. Detractors are the ones hammering the point that Tim Tebow can’t make NFL throws but, when he does, they counter by saying “yeah, but the defense played soft” or “he’s supposed to make those throws”. Detractors are the ones that are so quick to point out his statistics like completion percentage or low per game/completion/attempt yardage or QBR in his bad games, and then get frustrated when supporters use those same, and occasionally other, statistics in evaluating his good performances. And, now, after a great playoff win, one in which it did fall on Tim Tebow to win the game (due to some questionable officiating, losing their #1 receiver, no running game to speak of, McGahee fumble in the 4th quarter, defense that collapsed in the 2nd half, dropped interception by Bailey), and where he put up 316 yards passing against the #1 pass defense in the NFL, threw for 2 touchdowns, ran for 50 yards, and another touchdown, and had 0 turnovers, the detractors have yet again moved the goal post. “I need to see him do this consistently”, “it’s fools gold”, “he won’t be the starter next season”, “he won’t be in the NFL next season”, etc., etc.

All I know is that, this season, there are now 24 teams – all with far better QBs, NFL-caliber QBs, the detractors will say – that are out of the post season. But, Tim Tebow is still around.
