See, that’s the kind of activity that keeps me off the back of motorcycles let alone drive one my damn self. The closest I’ve ever been to riding a motorcycle was in some sort of entertainment establishment (think Circus Circus or Dave and Buster’) and even then I have a hard time with all that leaning and stuff. So no thank you to the bicycle on steroids. As for my man (if I had one) riding one….well, I would explain to him that I was uncomfortable with him riding it but I mean, really the argument that ensues will probably be worth it as long as it keeps his head from being bust wide open on the concrete. But for some reason I think that bikers don’t see it that way. Maybe its the power of feeling that vibrating engine underneath them…I dunno, but is it worth flying through the air without a safety net if you hit something?

There’s a question that no one has asked. 35 MPH?!?! Seriously?
This makes me think that K2 had/has no experience on a bike. I’ve got approximately 0 experience myself, but I know lots of folks who do, and even if I didn’t, 35 MPH is hardly grounds for honorary membership in the Kneivel family.
I gotta believe that Kellen just didn’t know what the hell he was doing, crashed and burned, and paid for it. Even then, lots of people who ride these things often will tell you that there’s a way to recognize if you’re gonna eat asphalt and lay the bike down (ok, crash) in such a way as to minimize your risk of injury. Not saying it wouldn’t have happened anyway, but with the proper training, it ain’t as likely or clear cut as it sounds.
This just reeks of a stupid mistake, albeit a regrettable one. This is the kinda shit Ryan Leaf would have done if he had enough balls to get on a motorcycle in the first place.
