  1. wow. that’s nuts.
Especially to a Texan. As much as I hate guns and support the control of them, I don’t have much qualm for blasting people that kick in your door. That’s one of them me-or-you situations, and it ain’t about to be me.

  3. I just had a really interesting discussion with a student about the death penalty. Said student is all for returning to the medieval practice of stoning criminals. Stoning them.
Jesus. Ever seen The Life of David Gale?

  5. To be honest, I have a lot more sympathy for this guy than Williams (not that I wanted him to die, but I just didn’t feel too bad for him). This guy sounds more like a victim of mistaken identity.

  7. Hypocrites are sickening. I don’t agree with the death penalty or the politics surrounding the outcome of people’s lives. But a lot of things I don’t agree with continue to exist without regard to my opinion. Why is it that only certain lives aren’t paraded for and protested over? Why are only high profile celebrity type death sentences important to the media and many of our so called leaders? Tookie’s dead now, but there are still those out on death row who are either innocent or reformed who don’t get a second thought.
Somehow, that Mississippi case sounds really familiar. Maybe cuz I heard of it before; maybe cuz the scenario ain’t nothin new. As Too Short would say : same ole shit. And please believe that the south does not hold primary rank on racism and unfair treatment of blacks. See Brad’s view. They still sabotage in the camoflage, figuratively and literally.
