Eye En Tee El…Baba!

As I’m sure you already know, today is International Baba Day. Children filled the streets in many third world countries today, hoping that International Baba would simply appear on his personal closed-circuit television feed and wave at the youngsters who hope to be like him one day.
International Baba Day–it encourages the children to dream.

Anyway, it’s the big two-cinco. Birthdays become less and less eventful with every passing year, but they’re still cool. It’s the only day where phone calls from an ungodly hour are unequivocally met with a smile or a chuckle. It’s also the day that I get a decent reduction in car insurance (The Man is unkind to black men under 25 when it’s insurance time).
But, as of somethin close to nine this morning, that is what it is. I’m back in Durham for a while, so I’ll probably head out to drink with my folks from the department. They’ve got major papers to turn in today, so folks are gonna be lookin to get rrrrrrrripped, man.
Don’t think I’ll be ripped, per se. But it’s a celebration, baby. You in the Triangle? Hit me up and find out where the party’s at.
