Season 1 of HBO sports series Game Theory with Bomani Jones debuts. Bomani hosted and executive produced the late night HBO series, welcoming new viewers to his nuance commentary. The weekly sports show launched Oct. 7th, 2022 in NYC.

as a damn near lifelong fan (since the early 80s when bob horner was popping them over the wall at fulton co. stadium), i feel your pain. i’ve actually been praying for the braves to lose since the 2000 season when it became clear they would never win another world series as long as they kept the double ‘c’ in effect…cox and corporate philosophy.
their performance last month made me realize i wasn’t really all that cool with them losing. 5-21…not cool.
so now i’m hoping they lose early, rally late, and make a run in the end. that’ll be different from the past seasons where they do well in the beginning and sputter at the end.
i meant 6-21.
I sat in front of my tv…knowing full well that the SECOND the Pirates were eliminated from the Playoffs in 1992, my birthright of fandom with the Pittsburgh Pirates was history.
I could see it happening even before it actually happened. when that line drive by Francisco Cabrera went over Jeff Kings head…i knew it was over.
So What it was arthritic former Pirate Sid Bream.
So What it was multiple Gold Glove winner Barry Bonds in left field,
It was three up…three down…
Bonilla was gone already, Bonds was next and I was right behind them.
Ive rooted against the Braves every chance I have gotten since then…EXCEPT the series Justice won for them, and ONLY cause they Gave the one superstar I might have a prayer of being mistaken for a hard time. And that was more about HIM than about them.
I became a FLORIDA MARLINS fan, just to spite the Braves.
In retrospect, though…you gotta give them their props. 14 years is NOTHING to sneeze at.
I take back 90% of the bad things I ever said about them….they will be back.
Just not THIS year.
