The way I read his quote, “…Are we capable of dealing with a severe attack or another severe storm? And that’s a very important question.” is a little different. He’s not answering one way or the other, he’s really just dodging the question entirely. Whether that’s better or worse depends on your perspective I guess, but it seems to me like he might as well have said nothing at all.
For my money, so to speak, the more important thing is Bishop Blake’s comments, where he says “…it’s a $2,000 ticket…” as though that’s some outrageous sum of money to even a small fringe church, much less his. If Republicans really do want support from Black people, for any reason, things like this are going to hurt them more than they realize (not that that’s what’s really important in this).
Bush is set. He has his 2 terms, he’s leaving in January 2009 no matter what, and there’s really nothing at all that’s going to change that. But now I’ll be surprised if we see a Republican president again any time in the next 3-4 elections.

I’m not sure that he truly feels responsible. He probably had a good look at his 38% approval rating, and realized that is party and his politcal agenda are in trouble.

At least he admitted it Bo. Now…if we could just get him to admit that the country needs a new president…we’d be cooking with grease.
