Links on the Duke lacrosse situation.
I’m helping ESPN with their coverage of this, so I’m not going to say much until stories have been researched and filed. However, the following things are in the public domain and have been left on the comments of the last post.

I wonder if this would have been handled any differently had this been Central’s basketball team and two white Duke females.
It would have undoubtedly been different. It’s ridiculous that these players have been guarded in this manner, and that President Brodhead seems a lot less concerned than he should be. I think if this was N.C. State’s basketball team and if Brodhead was President, he would throw the whole team under the bus and pretend like he didn’t even support the basketball program. I hope that if this rape occured, they make sure that all the people involved are punished fairly. Rape is such a disgusting crime, I don’t even know how you can live with yourself if you were to do it to another human being.
I don’t think there’s a question about whether or not a rape occurred: they found definite vaginal trauma on the victim.
The only question is who did it, and you’re right – if this were Central’s basketball team accused of raping a White student at Duke, not only would we know who’d done it by now, but they’d already be serving the maximum sentence allowable by law.
Actually, the law hasn’t proven very discriminating when looking for the black man that raped a white woman. In that case, it’s just a safe guess that some nigga would be locked up. What nigga? Dunno…some nigga.
