Something to remember as you try to stay sane

If you were going to be anxious about the election, that time has passed. If you were going to be anxious, it would be while voting was going on. That would be when something was actually changing, when there was something to be done.
Now, they’re just counting votes. Watch the stuff if you want to, but nothing is going to change. The election, praise whoever-you-deem-holy, is over. Now, just chill out. Drink if you need to.
But this is no more foolish than sweating when the prof is handing back exams. The test has been passed or flunked. Nothing left to do but go to work tomorrow morning.
I hope that last sentence is true.

  1. With all of this talk about change throughout this lengthy campaign, I’m reminded of something passed down to me from family members over the years: change can only happen if we change ourselves. That’s an ongoing process.
This election? No matter who wins, I just hope that he does right by the people. Hope.
