For most of my life, I’ve spent Sunday mornings anxious for football. Still got that a little bit, but know what my real anxious wait is on Sundays?
Waiting for 10pm to roll around so I can watch The Wire.
Probably gonna discuss the pentultimate episode of the season after I watch it for the second time. Yeah, I watch ’em twice. It’s that deep and that good.

That’s how I feel about Noahs’ Arc on Logo. Unfortunately, they only make 8 episodes per season, then I have to feen for several months until there’s word of a new season.

Ain’t that the truth.
This is the best season yet, by way of covering so many real-life social issues across class lines.
It’s the most socially responsible show. Ever. If for no reason other than breaching the issues that make folks uncomfortable.

Yo, I got the this whole season DVR’d. I might just run it back after the last episode.
BTW, I was watching Law & Order SVU last night and both Omar and Nemond were on it. I was like “what”?

I have never seen an episode of the Wire. The weird thing is, I’m dying to see it, but I don’t have cable and don’t have the time to sit through all of the seasons on DVD. The show isn’t going anywhere though. I can always catch up, right?

tell me you weren’t scared when chris and snoop were chasing michael at the beginning after marlo stood them mike stood tall with randy. I was like wtf. Best and most real show on tv. And all my maryland people know that was the governor, Bob ehrlich acting as the security guard in the statehouse where the mayor went to visit. The wire has so much clout they got the actual governor playing a security guard

oh and eauhellzgnaw, the show might be going off. it was a grassroots outcry by loyal fans that made hbo decide not to pull the plug before this season. netflix or buy the dvd if you have to. trust me. i netflix the wire. watched them all in basically a week. so watch it while you can.

the wire is my favorite tv show ever. It’s not even close really*. It’s amazing the attachment you can gain for the characters. This is especially remarkable because each season focuses on a different group of people. That and it’s hard not to love a show where the only heros are a cop who builds doll house furniture, a super cop who wants to be a patrol man, and a gay stick up man. The last episode of this season is one of the more fucked up things I’ve seen. Apparently next season the focus is going to shift to the media I can’t wait. (*ok so maybe deadwood is as good, but only if you like westerns that you have to watch twice to understand how funny the dialogue is)

The Wire is my television end all be all. I always watch them twice as well. It takes at least two viewings to fully absorb everything. Each of the characters is rendered with a level of humanity that’s never been seen on tv. I’ve been an avid viewer from the beginning, but think that this season is by far the best. The Michael character – my God, what can you even say? If Tristan Wilds, the actor that portrays him, isn’t nominated for an Emmy, something is truly wrong with the world.
Funny story – my office has these weird blind corners – I was coming around one of them and almost ran smack dab into Gbenga Akinnagbe, the actor that portrays Chris – the very first thought that popped into my head was, “Oh shit, Chris is here, somebody’s gonna’ get it.”
I’m so glad HBO decided to give the show a chance. They’ve got another season left (I think production starts in March), and possibly a novel to tie up any loose ends from there.

Bo, you know about HBO placing each new episode on “On Demand” 6 days ahead of time, right? It’s fantastic.

Yezzir! I do a post on it every week. It could be a college course it’s so deep. I do the re-watch thing also. Best show on TV, hands down.
