on the real, christina can sing, but I am screaming in everybody’s ear who will give me a minute that Leela James is the TRUTH. You know how you got open the first time you heard Anthony Hamilton’s record? And you know how his place was even further cemented when you heard “Soul Life”? Well She kills it like that. Trust me on this one.

About Leela James…I have to agree that she’s being slept on right now. Her cover of Don’t Speak is better than anything Gwen’s ever done in her life and the rest of the album is amazing. I can’t watch her perform, though – too spastic.
Oh yeah, Josie sent me that Christina Aguilera link. PROPS to her for that. I still need to peep the Leela James. Rell can’t stop talking about it.

Ok, as per the usual, I’m totally out of touch with most folks on this one, but I’m still a big Joss Stone fan. I’m not suggesting she’s on the level that most people put her at, but to even be within shouting distance of the talent of Patti, Aretha, et. al. at her age is pretty damned impressive.
Joss is the truth, though Aretha comparisons are a bit premature. In fact, Joss is the one that makes me wonder why Aguilera hasn’t done more soul stuff.
